2023 PHL CHAMPIONS

9/26/2023

Congratulations to the 2023 PHL Champions Triple Trouble. This year’s Championship marks the 3rd for league veteran Casey Santos, which puts him in a 4 way tie for the most championships in league history with league legends Gerry Santos, Dave Desnoyers & Wayne Gomes. Triple Trouble was initially a duo composed of Casey & rookie Trevor Brown who played great together when they were both available but unfortunately Trevor missed a 1/3 of the season and had to drop out 3 weeks before the playoffs and was replaced with rookie Devin Santos to finish the season. Casey & Devin started off slow dropping out of the top 3 teams to the 5th seed to end the season finishing with a record of 33-21. Fortunately for Casey his partner didn’t take long to hit his stride and peaked at the right time putting together one of the best playoff performances by a rookie in league history scoring a playoff high 126 points over 10 games while averaging 12.6 PPG. Devin’s great play was combined with the veteran experience of the the 2x champion Santos who matched up against Bubba Andrews, Dave Desnoyers, Sean Gomes & finally Wayne Gomes. Regardless of the stiff completion they faced, they moved through the playoffs with little resistance on a dominant 9-1 run, only losing a single game to the defending champion 9 Irons in the finals. Wayne & Brian had beaten Casey’s Larry Legends in 4 games in the previous 2022 PHL finals and were trying to repeat while Wayne was hoping to become the first in league history to win 4 titles. Now Casey and Devin will look to win back to back championships while Casey attempts to make league history.
