2022 PHL CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to the 2022 PHL Champions 9 Irons. This year’s Championship marks the third for league veteran Wayne Gomes in 6 years, tying him for the most championships in league history and is the first title for his partner Brian Custodio. The duo earned a first round bye due to their number 1 seeding as they finished the regular season with an elite record of 45-9. Once they hit the pits, 9 Irons moved through the playoff competition with little resistance on a dominant 7-1 playoff record, including a 3-1 finals record where they showed no mercy against Larry Legends, a 10th seed who were hoping to make league history by upsetting their way through the playoffs and came into the finals with a 7-2 playoff record.
Then after finishing first place in the regular season and immediately after winning the league championship, Wayne took first place in the end of year Cash Prize tournament to add to his daily and yearly winnings.
